October Trial

After a very long delay, we finally have our official trial number for October.  I'll be getting the premium published as soon as possible.  Our judge will be Randy Tanner and the trial will again be held at the Canine Sports Academy in Goldsby, OK

As a sneak preview, I can tell you that we will have a standard run on the Friday evening again, and the games will be Tunnelers, Jumplers, Super Dog, and Black Hole.

Since the Western Regional Petit Prix will be a month later, this will likely be your last chance to qualify (unless you're a TDAA member).  We will be using some the equipment that will be used at the Petit Prix, namely a rubberized A-Frame (courtesy of Kim Brewer), and the Dog Walk which will be loaned to Small Paws over Texas (S.P.O.T.) from the Canine Sports Academy.  To warm up for the Petit Prix, we will have a set of twenty-four weave poles and a distance challenge to practice on in the exercise yard.

I will announce the publication of the premium as soon as it's done, and we hope to see you in October!

Another Milestone!

The Teacup Tornadoes are proud to announce another milestone in Fancy's agility career. This past weekend, July 21st, on her 9th Birthday, Fancy, and her handler Sara Brown, received the UACHX title in UKC agility.  Now with two UKC championship to proudly display, they are working diligently towards their Grand Champion title.

Success!

The first Teacup Tornadoes Agility Trial was a great success. It was smaller than we'd hoped, but we made up for it in add-on runs. Friday was a little crazy getting all the prizes, ribbons, coolers, paperwork, and D'Argo, to the Canine Sports Academy, but it all fit in my truck.  We spent a hectic afternoon getting ready, but thanks to Connie, Sara, Regina, Dennis, and Kathy, we were ready on time.  We got started with a standard run on Friday evening, and because of the small group, we had time for an add-on as well.  It was during the first run of the evening that we crowned our first Champion: Molly Bel.

I must admit to being a bit frazzled on the Friday, and messed up our runs completely. D'Argo did exactly as I asked. Unfortunately, I had forgotten the course!
from left to right: Connie G. with Deuce on the A-frame, Melissa P. with Diva, Jeanette B. with D'Argo, Sara B. with Fancy, Regina S. with Charley, Kris Hurley, our judge, with Shelby, Dennos G. with Molly Bel, Karen G. with Duffy (Remi is hiding his face between Fancy and Molly Bel, and Kim B. with Speed, Juliet and Tonio.

Because we had a small trial, we managed to fit in 7 standard runs and 5 games, giving a lot of new TDAA dogs a good opportunity for advancement.

We gave out lots of new titles including 2 TMAGs (D'Argo and Tonio), 3 TAMs and 3 TACHs (Molly Bel, Fancy and Tonio).  The High-in-Trial dogs were Speed (4"), Duffy (8"), Juliet (12"), Fancy (16"), Shelby (Veteran) and D'Argo (Rescue).

I think it's fair to say that we pulled off a really good first trial, and we look forward to our next one in October.
